Whether you are new to the writing game, or a seasoned pro; aligning
your work, especially the title to what is hot and what is selling is not
necessarily a bad thing.
Wouldn’t you rather sell 50 books than two books. In writing a book you may find that it is absolutely
necessary to choose a similar title to harness and capture on the best sellers
book sales. There are other ways in
which this can be done, but the easiest, is to create books with a similar
sounding title, and in the same category or niche.
Example:
One Word Substitution:
If Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen is the best seller in
the Kindle store, then alternative titles for your book would be:
Pride and Prejudgment
Pride and Sympathy
Dignity and Prejudice
Multiple Word Substitution
If Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll Austen
is the best seller in the Kindle store, then alternative titles for your book
would be:
Alice’s Exploits in Enchantment
Alice’s Experience in Elysium
Alice’s Speculation in Peril
Total Phrase Substitution, with keywords to link back to
the original book
If the Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling is the best seller in
the Kindle store, then alternative titles for your book would be:
The Spectacular Wilderness Scroll….A look inside the jungle book
A Striking Labyrinth Work…inside the maze that is the jungle
book
Near Suspenseful Tangle of the Atlas…a journey in the jungle
book
This type of book titling works very well; especially if the
book title being copies is in the public domain.
Write a simple book using my method for titling and give it a try!
